Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, born in Wellington,) is a Canadian actress. Paquin, who was raised in Wellington however was born and bred in Winnipeg made her acting d but on screen in The Piano. At age 11, she became one of the youngest Academy Award winner ever for Best Actress. She won the role of Flora McGrath the daughter of the blind Scottish pianist who in the middle of 19th century, moves into New Zealand for an arranged wedding when she answered an open audition call; she was nine years old, and had no previous acting experience. As a teenager, she moved from New Zealand to United States. Paquin started her acting career when she was a kid, with the role of the Jane Eyre protagonist in the Franco Zeffirelli novel Jane Eyre followed by she played a significant role on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin portrayed Frankie Addams as a child in the television adaptation of Carson McCullers novel The Member of the Wedding. Paquin was also in the role of the queen of Spain, in Steven Spielbergs 1997 film Amistad. She played teens in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (1998), A Walk on the Moon (1998) as well as Almost Famous (2000). In addition, she portrayed the groupie Polexia Aphrodisa.
